Anger Management
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Navigate Anger Management with Compassionate, Licensed Therapists
Anger is a natural human emotion, but when it becomes difficult to manage, it can begin affecting relationships, school, work, and overall emotional well-being. Anger may develop in response to stress, frustration, anxiety, trauma, or other underlying emotional challenges. While everyone experiences anger differently, learning how to recognize and respond to it in healthy ways can lead to stronger relationships and improved emotional health.
You may notice yourself or your child becoming easily frustrated, reacting impulsively, or having difficulty calming down after conflicts. Anger can sometimes appear as irritability, verbal outbursts, aggression, or shutting down emotionally. At Genesis Counseling, we provide Anger Management therapy for children, teens, and adults, helping clients better understand the emotions behind their anger while developing healthier ways to communicate and respond to difficult situations.
We offer therapy in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Delray Beach, Pembroke Pines, Pompano Beach, and Wellington, as well as virtual therapy throughout Florida.
OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE
to help you heal, therapy designed around you.
Signs You May Benefit from Anger Management
Difficulty managing anger can look different from person to person. Some individuals experience explosive outbursts, while others hold their emotions inside until they become overwhelming.
You may notice:
- Frequent frustration or irritability
- Verbal outbursts or yelling during disagreements
- Difficulty calming down after becoming angry
- Impulsive reactions that lead to regret
- Physical aggression or destructive behaviors
- Conflict with family members, friends, or coworkers
- Feeling overwhelmed by emotions during stressful situations
- Anger affecting school, work, or personal relationships
These patterns can create ongoing stress and strain relationships if left unaddressed.
When It May Be Time to Seek Anger Management Support
If anger is becoming difficult to control or is negatively affecting your relationships, work, school, or daily life, therapy can help. Learning healthy coping skills early can reduce conflict while improving emotional regulation and communication.
Support may be helpful if:
- Anger feels difficult to control
- Conflicts happen frequently at home, school, or work
- Emotional reactions feel stronger than the situation calls for
- Anger is affecting relationships or daily functioning
What to Expect from Anger Management
Therapy focuses on understanding the root causes of anger rather than simply trying to suppress it. Together, you and your therapist will identify triggers, recognize emotional and physical warning signs, and develop healthier ways to respond when difficult emotions arise.
Depending on your needs, therapy may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), emotional regulation techniques, mindfulness strategies, and communication skills that help reduce impulsive reactions and improve problem-solving. If anger is connected to overwhelming emotions or difficulty managing feelings, clients may also benefit from our Emotional Regulation services. When anger is rooted in anxiety or chronic stress, our Stress Management & Burnout and Anxiety Treatment services can provide additional support.
For children and teens, parents may be included in the therapeutic process to reinforce healthy communication, consistent expectations, and positive coping strategies at home.

Your first session at Genesis Counseling is an intake appointment, where your therapist will gather important background information to better understand your needs. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your child, or your family, this session will focus on:
