Depression Treatment

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Navigate Depression with Compassionate, Licensed Therapists

Depression does not always look the way people expect. It is not always constant sadness. For many adults, it feels like a loss of energy, a lack of motivation, or a sense of disconnection from things that once felt meaningful. You may find yourself going through your day on autopilot, struggling to complete tasks that used to feel simple, or feeling emotionally flat and unsure why. Even small responsibilities can begin to feel overwhelming.

Many people begin searching for depression therapy when they realize that these feelings are not passing on their own. At Genesis Counseling, we provide depression therapy for adults that helps you understand what you are experiencing and begin moving forward in a way that feels manageable and supported.

We offer therapy in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Delray Beach, Pembroke Pines, Pompano Beach, and Wellington, as well as virtual therapy throughout Florida.

OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE

Signs and Symptoms of Depression in Adults

Depression can affect both emotional and physical well-being, often in ways that build gradually over time.

Common signs include:

  • Persistent low mood or sadness
  • Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
  • Fatigue or lack of energy
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Changes in sleep patterns
  • Feelings of hopelessness or disconnection
  • Increased irritability or withdrawal

These symptoms can vary in intensity, but when they persist, they can begin to impact daily life and overall functioning.

When It May Be Time to Seek Support

Depression can feel isolating, especially when it is difficult to explain what you are going through.

You may benefit from therapy if:

  • You feel persistently low or disconnected
  • Your motivation or energy has decreased
  • Daily tasks feel harder than usual
  • You feel stuck or unsure how to move forward

Reaching out is not a sign of weakness it is a step toward feeling better.

What to Expect from Depression Therapy Sessions

Your therapist will work with you to understand your experience and what feels most important to address. Sessions may include a combination of processing emotions, exploring patterns, and building practical strategies to support daily life.

The pace of therapy is always adjusted to what feels manageable for you. Some days may focus on deeper emotional work, while others may focus on building structure and coping tools.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I choose the right therapist?

Finding the right therapist is essential for a successful therapy experience. At Genesis Counseling, our Intake Team carefully matches clients with a therapist based on their presenting concerns, goals, and preferences. Our therapists have diverse specialties, credentials, and training to ensure personalized care for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. We offer therapy at our Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Aire Pompano and Wellington locations, as well as virtual therapy across Florida. What should I expect in my first therapy session?

Your first session at Genesis Counseling is an intake appointment, where your therapist will gather important background information to better understand your needs. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your child, or your family, this session will focus on:

1. Discussing your history and what led you to seek therapy.
2. Identifying your concerns and goals for treatment.
3. Developing a personalized treatment plan to guide your progress.
4. Confirming scheduling and session frequency moving forward.

Our therapists create a safe, supportive environment to help you feel comfortable sharing your experiences.

Does Genesis offer virtual therapy or telehealth sessions?

Yes! Genesis Counseling offers HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy for children, teens, adults, couples, and families across Florida. All of our licensed therapists provide secure and confidential telehealth sessions, allowing you to receive high-quality mental health care from the comfort of your home.

During your intake scheduling, our team will provide all the necessary information on how to access virtual sessions. Telehealth is a convenient option for those with busy schedules, transportation challenges, or a preference for remote care.
